Program

Day 1:
Arrival in Casciana Terme, a typical spa village in Tuscany, and accommodation in the hotel

Day 2:
From Casciana Terme starts a 100km route (difference in altitude: 1,450 meters) dedicated to the White Truffle, until you reach San Miniato, a "slow food" city for the market exhibition of truffles and other typical products of the area. After having reached the villages of Montefoscoli and Palaia on the top of the hills, you will descend into Val d'Arno and after more than ten km of plain in the green Tuscan countryside, you will begin the short ascent to San Miniato. You will leave San Miniato in the direction of Calenzano on the ridge that flanks the ancient Via Francigena which you will leave for an up and down among the green hills behind San Miniato until you reach the village of Collebrunacchi and then go back down to the plain and after crossing La Serra again a narrow ascent will make you rise again in altitude. After 4km of ups and downs you will arrive straight in the center of Montopoli in Val d'Arno.
You go down again to go up again just before the town of La Rotta towards Palaia, the road is shaded and climbs with steps with short downhill stretches that allow you to recover. We leave after 5km to go down to Forcoli then after as many km of plain the last real "roughness" of the day allows us to get to Santo Pietro Belvedere. Return to Casciana Terme.

Day 3:
The 68 km route (difference in altitude + 1110m) twists and turns along the Wine Route of the Pisan Hills.
Departure from Casciana Terme in the direction of Chianni, then towards Terricciola passing first through Rivalto, the highest and most panoramic point of the route where the view extends from Monte Serra to Volterra. After about four km of descent, winding in the first part, and wide and panoramic in the second part, the ascent to Terricciola Città del Vino begins, which you leave behind on the ridge heading north surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. The next town is Lari with its fortified village and its fortress, then in rapid succession Crespina, Fauglia and Casciana Alta which can be reached after about 3 km of pleasant and panoramic climb.
A few more kilometers and Casciana Terme is there waiting for you.
