Live the experience of truffle hunting!
The truffle is a fruiting body belonging to the mushroom family of the genus Tuber, which completes its entire life cycle underground.
It is extremely rare to find and therefore very expensive, and each type has a specific harvest season.
In Tuscany, the village of San Miniato has gained a worldwide reputation for this delicacy, and the Azienda Tartufi Nacci is ready to give you one of the most distinctive and enjoyable experiences Tuscany has to offer.
The tour will start at 10:00 a.m. at the company's headquarters (Via Zara, 110 Loc. Corazzano, about 10 km from San Miniato). We recommend showing up 15 minutes before the indicated time.
You will be welcomed by the owner and his staff, who will convey the experience gained over the years, passion and seriousness for this work.
You will be taken into the woods through secret paths together with the very faithful dogs Birba and Maya, essential partners in the search and hunt for fresh truffles.
The tour will last about 1 hour and 30 minutes, during which you will learn about truffle dog training techniques and how to search for them. Meanwhile you will observe the faithful dogs in the search and excavation of truffles.
After the tour you will return to the store where everything about truffles will be explained: harvesting periods, storage, use in cooking, processing into sauces, creams, and oils, and you will find a small tasting of the Nacci company's products, all of which can be purchased at the end of the tour.
To end on a high note, you can add a real truffle tasting, with bruschetta, cheeses, cured meats, and some good wine, and an all-truffle lunch, which will be taken at a typical restaurant a stone's throw from the organizing company. The unmistakable flavor of truffles will be intoxicating and will make this experience even more magical.
The tasting and lunch, not included in the price, will be available for purchase at the time of booking.
